1) To study, explore, investigate, calculate, analyze, and monitor hydrological variations and processes hydrological, meteorological, and applied hydrological data.
2) Plan, survey, inspect, install, repair, improve, maintain, and enhance the efficiency of hydrological and meteorological stations, automatic remote water monitoring systems, and early warning systems.
3) Monitoring, tracking, and providing warnings about floods, flash floods, and droughts, and strengthening the monitoring network.
4) Monitor, analyze, forecast, and assess the water situation, and integrate data to support water balance and allocation.
5) To provide consultation, advice, dissemination, and transfer of knowledge in hydrology to agencies and the public in the responsible area.
6) Collaborate with or support the work of other relevant or assigned agencies.
***The Hydrology Division 1, Nakhon Sawan, is responsible for an area covering 4 provinces: Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, Uthai Thani, and Chai Nat.
